A REVOLUTION IN CUSTOM HEARING PROTECTION

The PRO31 is a breakthrough in high-noise filtering, giving you an almost flat sound reduction.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF FILTER DESIGN

The PRO filter series has been designed anew with the wearer in mind. For starters, it’s smaller than many competing filters, meaning that it can fit into smaller ears without any protrusion which is great for both comfort and aesthetics because it will always fit snugly underneath a helmet or other head wear. The filters are also removable so you can clean and maintain your earmoulds and your filters – giving you the maximum life and the best value for money from your plugs. In addition, the PRO series are water resistant so they can be used outside or in high moisture environments and can withstand perspiration without it damaging the filter membrane.

THE CURSE OF THE OCCLUSION EFFECT

Trying to create a natural sounding earplug is no mean feat as far as your own voice is concerned because, as you may have experienced, when you block off your ear canal your own voice starts to boom inside your head (this is what we call occlusion). This is caused by sound that is carried to your ear canal through the cartilage at the side of your head which usually escapes through the open ear canal so is not heard. When we block off the canal this sound cannot escape and so creates that booming effect. A large amount of occlusion can be eliminated by ensuring that the earplug sits deep enough into the ear canal to extend past the cartilage. This ensures that the sound hits the plug and is deadened rather than entering the canal at all. The PRO filters go one step further by being vented to allow sound to pass both ways, meaning that remaining sound can escape directly through the filter providing one of the most natural sounding earplugs available.

TAILOR MADE FOR YOU

The PRO31 ear plug is custom-made using soft medical-grade silicone so you get the very best in isolation and fit, allowing you to wear them for hours at a time without fatigue or discomfort. Each earpiece is manufactured to the highest standards ensuring you get a comfortable, discreet and effective hearing protector that can be fitted quickly, easily and securely every time.

PRO31 ear plugs and filters have been tested and certified to AS/NZS-1270 standards as a Class 5 Hearing Protector as well as the EN352-2: The European Standard for ear plug hearing protectors.

What is the highest DB rating for ear plugs?

Our solid earplugs attenuate (reduce) the most. A pair of sleep plugs reduces about 30-33 dB. For industrial noise the Pro31 and Pro27 are the highest attenuating filters: both class 5.

Please note that it is not possible to block out all sound, not even with a custom hearing protection product as sound also travels through the bone structure of your head for example.

I need a class 5 hearing protector / hearing protector with the highest protection?

Our ACS Pro27 and Pro31 are AS/NZS 1270 tested class 5 hearing protectors. Class 5 is the highest class. To purchase a set of class5 ear plugs please visit our shop.

If you need assistance choosing the right hearing protector product for your situation, please contact us.

What is the hand grip / cord / standard option for the Pro earplugs?

There are different options for our Pro hearing protectors. Standard / Hand grip / Cord / Hand grip with a cord thread through the hand grip. Each option (except for the standard) is an additional 10 dollars (handgrip with cord: 20 dollars surcharge).

1.If you choose the Standard option, the earplugs are most discrete. They have a very flat profile. The earplugs can be removed by pushing on the skull side of the ear in an upwards movement. The seal will break and the earplugs can be taken out easily.

2. The Pro with hand grip, has a silicone hand grip on the top of the earplug. This helps with insertion and removal. Depending on your ear shape the handgrip might stick out a bit. (size 8 mm)

3. The Pro with cord and shirt clip. The black lanyard is plugged directly in the earplug. For safety purposes and convenience the cord is removable and should not be used to pull the earplugs out of the ears. If you after a removal option only please choose the handgrip.

4. The Pro with hand grip and cord with shirt clip. This option has the silicone handgrip with a hole where the cord runs through. The cord is removable.

Please note: All these options need to be chosen at the time of ordering as none can be added afterwards. You can order the options in the shop when you order your Pro earplugs.
