Continuous Development
We have introduced our patent-pending IRIS and exclusive SSI technology across our entire IEM line-up.

IRIS – Intelligent Resonance in Silicone is a patent-pending technology we have created to maximise the potential of miniature balanced armature speakers. IRIS construction methods allow for very precise acoustic tuning to deliver our unique ACS sound signature. IRIS brings an added dimension to music in a way that mimics the warm, lush and open sound that valve amplifiers provide.
SSI – Sound Stage Imaging is a tuning technique achieved by using our own purpose-designed manifold technology. Implemented into our custom and universal in-earphones, SSI positions the audio into a wider array than other earphones, bringing a superbly defined and very detailed response to further enhance your listening experience, positioning all the instruments as if you were sitting in front of the stage listening to the live performance.

Not all cables are created equally
The cable fitted to your ACS monitors is of the highest quality. Manufactured to our own specification, each cable contains 80 strands of 100% oxygen-free copper with each strand plated in pure silver. Aramid fibres (Kevlar) are woven into the twists to provide exceptional pulling strength and breaking strain. The sheathing on the cable is treated to dismiss harmful UV rays and will not discolour or oxidise like many other inferior cables. The design of the cable provides the best connectivity between your audio source and the earphones. When the cable is fitted in the lab it has optimum contact to the cable socket, therefore we strongly recommend that you don’t disconnect the cable unless it requires replacing.

Combining the latest ACS technologies and the new detachable cable system the Engage delivers a truly reference quality, high fidelity IEM. If you are looking for a well-balanced, detailed and accurate sounding IEM without breaking the bank then the Engage is the one for you.

A few words about care and maintenance:

We make our in ear monitors with pride and like all things worth having, they are worth looking after. Just follow these simple rules and you should receive many years of trouble-free service.
Check the sound ducts after each use and use the wire pick supplied to remove any ear wax that has made its way into the tubing.
Never use the cables to remove the IEMs – this will eventually put a strain on the connector and will damage the cable.
Ensure moisture from either humidity or sweat is removed straight after use.

I think these Monitors have changed my life! I play drums in a touring band on a regular basis so hearing loss has been a big concern, but since stumbling across Pacific Ears that’s all changed. Their customer service was excellent, I sent an email explaining my situation to which they promptly responded directing me to these monitors and answered all my questions leading up to me ordering them and even helped me with some trouble I had arranging a fitting point for the custom moulding. The 2: Engage Dual Drive Monitors make such a clear and crisp sound that’s super easy to listen to, while also having the most efficient seal for my ears that I’ve ever experienced (eliminating the need to turn my backing tracks up too loud, not even halfway!). Saying that, the seal doesn’t cut me off from hearing things like the crowds and leaves just enough room for me to hear enough of what’s going on in the room, so I can enjoy the luxury of excellent hearing protection without being isolated in a bubble of silence. Bottom line, I don’t think I’ll be worrying about hearing loss moving forward with these! Absolutely the best In Ear Monitors I’ve ever used.

Are in ear monitors good for listening to music?

Yes these custom made In ear monitors are perfect for listening to music. You will be impressed by the clarity and accuracy that you gain. It is a completely different experience to listen to music with In ears compared to speakers.
Of course our In Ears are also perfect for on stage performers.

Are IEMs better than earbuds?

Let’s rephrase that question to: ‘are custom In ear Monitors better than standard earbuds‘.

Yes they are. Custom In ear monitors are designed to seal perfectly which improves your listening experience. It also means you don’t need to turn up the volume as loud which will save your ears.

Are in ear monitors noise Cancelling?

Our classic ACS In ears are passive noise cancelling earplugs, or better phrased, noise isolating. They act like solid earmoulds when not plugged in and reduce the sound by 30-33 dB.

Where can I have my impressions of my ears taken for a custom made product?

We have a extensive chain of fitting points / clinics all over New Zealand (and Australia) which make impressions of your ears for us. Once you have ordered through our website we will send you the details of the closest one. In Auckland for example we work with over 19 clinics.

A qualified employee will make your impressions and sends them to us. Impressions are included in the price of the product.

Impressions are needed for ACS Pro earplugs, ER Musicians Earplugs, SleepSounds, Swimplugs, Custom Sleeves and our in-ear monitors.

If you have any questions please contact us via email: info@pacificears.com

I have a problem with my In Ear Monitors but they are out of warranty, can you still repair them?

Yes, we probably can, depending on the issue. Please email us with the problem and we will assist you.

How long will my custom earplugs or in ear monitors last?

Your custom hearing protection product (earplugs or In-ear monitors) can last indefinitely, however, we recommend new ear impressions are taken every 3/4 years as the shape of your ear canals can change over time.
